You've often heard of designer watches, but that is not what is sold on this site. Instead, you're looking at a designer pen whose hardware is designed by the accomplished pen designer David Broadwell. It features 3D art designs on the exposed accent rings, bands, and caps.
Not only that, the Banksia seed pod from Australia is equally stunning. Once it seeds, the Banksia pod is littered with small oval holes where the seed used to be. The positioning of each seed is different from each side of the pod and from pod to pod making truly remarkable patterns once the holes have been filled.
The pen's wood body has a barrel shape and is finished with Pure Tung Oil and Carnauba-based Wax. The Tung Oil penetrates the wood to emphasize the grain and colour. The oil does not contain artificial thinners or cure-accelerants and is approved for food-contact items. The Carnauba-based wax forms a light 'skin' finish which serves as an additional layer of protection. The combination of the two finishes emphasize the beauty of the wood while preserving its natural feel.
The hardware components are cast, polished and plated with a durable two micron 22k gold plate and black titanium. The threads at the back of the pen allow you to attach the cap giving you extra length and balance.
The pen is only available in rollerball style and comes with a fine-tipped (0.6mm) ceramic roller refill from Schmidt. The rollerball tip ensures smooth and even lines to your hand-writing. To access the refill, simply unscrew the tip from the middle.
Customization for this pen is not available.
This pen is a luxury of writing instruments and you'll be envied by everyone. Complimentary velvet pouch is included with the purchase; the pen holder in the images is sold separately.
Note: the dimensions are shown as length of closed pen by height of pen at clip by largest diameter of the wooden body.
