To help you show off and protect your pen, a wooden case is what’s required.

The wooden cases by Koka-Bora Creations are available in two woods: North American Cherry or North American Maple. These woods are straight grained and perfectly compliment and contrast the pens. For this particular item, the wood chosen is Maple.

Each pen case begins with a single block of wood that is halved first and then the pen cradle is hollowed out. The pen cases have two hidden brass hinges that let the case open 180 degrees enabling the pen case to be completely opened and placed on a flat surface like an office desk. The pen case also has a brass latch to hold the two halves together.

Not only that, the pen cases are available in plain wood or with Lichtenberg burn pattern. The Lichtenberg burn pattern is done using 12,000Volts of electricity that randomly goes through the wood and therefore unique for each and every case. Once fully opened, the inside of the pencase has equally stunning book-matched (a.k.a. mirrored) burn pattern as well. Considering the random nature of the pattern, no two pen cases will be the same; no two halves of the same pencase will be the same either. The wood is finished with Pure Tung Oil. The Tung Oil penetrates the wood to emphasize the grain and colour. The oil does not contain artificial thinners or cure-accelerants and is approved for food-contact items.
