A massively beautiful rollerball pen with a custom Cherry wood case that will make you feel like royalty.
The pen is the Emperor Pen in Gabon Ebony, tree native to West Africa. Its black colour, smooth texture riddled with some open grain, and extreme hardness and weight are characteristics of the wood. All tools used in the making of this pen body had to be frequently sharpened.
The wood is turned to a barrel shape and finished with Pure Tung Oil and Carnauba-based Wax. The Tung Oil penetrates the wood to emphasize the grain and colour. The oil does not contain artificial thinners or cure-accelerants and is approved for food-contact items. The Carnauba-based wax forms a light 'skin' finish which serves as an additional layer of protection. The combination of the two finishes emphasize the beauty of the wood while preserving its natural feel.
The pen hardware has a rhodium finish with black titanium accents. It comes with a fine-tipped (0.6mm) ceramic roller refill from Schmidt. The rollerball tip ensures smooth and even lines to your hand-writing. To access the refill, simply unscrew the tip from the middle; make sure you retain the spring that goes at the end of the refill.
This pen might rarely leave your hand! Not only will you write with it constantly, but you'll show off to everyone around you.
To help you show off the pen, the wooden case perfectly opens up and lays flat. You can place it in a central location to be seen everywhere. The case is made with a signle piece of North American Cherry wood. This piece is particularly unique as it contains both the lighter-coloured sapwood and darker heartwood. The wood is finished with Pure Tung Oil.
The pen case features hidden brass hinges that open 180 degrees and a brass latch to hold the two halves together. Inside the pen case, the cherry wood has been hollowed out to fit the Empreror pen.
Note: the weight is in grams of both the box and the pen together; the dimensions are in millimeters and shown as length by width by height of the wooden pen case.
