Crafted from a single piece of African Ebony native to Western Africa, this pen showcases the absolute uniqueness of the wood. The black heartwood is criss crossed by lighter streaks of brown in the most irregular manner. Because of that, the wood has slightly lighter colour when compared to Gabon Ebony.The fine grain and smooth finish translate to a beautiful feel in the hand.

The pen's wood body is turned to a barrel shape and finished with Pure Tung Oil and Carnauba-based Wax. The Tung Oil penetrates the wood to emphasize the grain and colour. The oil does not contain artificial thinners or cure-accelerants and is approved for food-contact items. The Carnauba-based wax forms a light 'skin' finish which serves as an additional layer of protection. The combination of the two finishes emphasize the beauty of the wood while preserving its natural feel.

The hardware is finished in chrome. You can place the cap at the back to give you extra length and balance; the rare earth magnet keeps the cap snugly attached.

The rollerball pen comes with a fine-tipped (0.6mm) ceramic roller refill from Schmidt. The rollerball tip ensures smooth and even lines to your hand-writing.

To access the refill, simply unscrew the tip from the middle. In case of the rollerball pen, make sure you don't lose the spring that goes at the end of the refill.
