Beautifully Crafted from Bog Oak from the Ukraine. Bog Oak is essentially an oak tree that has been buried in an acidic environment for over 5000 years. The acidic environment slowly pigments the entire tree black. This is a natural phenomenon and no stains, dyes, or artificial colours have been used. In addition, the wood comes with a dating certificate indicating the approximate age of the tree. This pen also features two rings from Ash Burl that is found in Goderich Ontario area. The white-ish burl color perfectly compliments the pen giving it another touch of uniqueness.

The wood is turned to a barrel shape and finished with Pure Tung Oil and Carnauba-based Wax. The Tung Oil penetrates the wood to emphasize the grain and colour. The oil does not contain artificial thinners or cure-accelerants and is approved for food-contact items. The Carnauba-based wax forms a light 'skin' finish which serves as an additional layer of protection. The combination of the two finishes emphasize the beauty of the wood while preserving its natural feel.

The pen hardware has a chrome finish with intricate knurling designs on the centre band, acent ring, and twist finial. The pen is available in ballpoint format and takes on a standard Parker style refill.
